Flooding causes headache in Summerville's Sweetbriar neighborhood – WCBD News 2

SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCBD) – Downtown Charleston is not the only place dealing with flooding on Friday.

Summerville is also rerouting drivers as heavy rain cause problems in one neighborhood that has been dealing with flooding issues for some time.

As of midday Friday, Huntington Road in the Sweetbriar subdivision was almost completely flooded over.

A driver who recently passed through the water told us the flooding problem is just ridiculous and said he is frustrated with these conditions – something he says happens all too often.

Both sides of Huntington Road looked like lakes, leading officials to shut the area down until water begins to recede.

At Sawmill Branch off Bacon’s Bridge Road, water is filling up but not quite over the banks just yet. It is one place that officials will continue to monitor.
